You know the church is in serious trouble when you see clergy come out in support of abortion, let alone refuse to call it out for the grievous sin it is.
Episcopal priest Reverend Katherine Ragsdale did just that when she proudly declared abortion to be a “blessing” at a pro-abortion rally back in 2007. What’s even more shocking is that she implied God puts His blessing on the mass murder of millions of innocent babies in the womb every year.
“Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done,” Ragsdale emphatically stated, before chanting, “Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.”
This is truly tragic, but the situation has only gotten worse in the years since Ragsdale gave that vile speech.
As if this story couldn’t get any more disheartening, not only is Ragsdale the first lesbian to become a leader in an Episcopal seminary, but she has also served on the board of NARAL Pro-Choice America, chaired the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Rights, and currently serves as the Interim President and CEO of the National Abortion Federation (NAF). But wait, there’s more.
Ragsdale is putting her money where her mouth is, so to speak. According to FaithWire, she is spearheading a new NAF program that will hand out pre-paid gas cards to women seeking abortions.
“Since there are a limited number of providers and states continue to impose additional restrictions, many women have to travel long distances to reach the closest provider who can help them,” NAF said in a statement on their website. “And this situation will only worsen as the political environment continues to become more hostile toward abortion rights.”
Not only is she supporting women who are murdering their babies but Ragsdale is also putting more money into the bank accounts of the already wealthy, for-profit Planned Parenthood.
Christian Headlines reports:
Catherine Glenn Foster, president and CEO of Americans United for Life, the largest pro-life legal organization in the country, believes the pilot program doesn’t help women but abortion centers.
“This is a half-baked publicity stunt by NAF meant to create the impression that there is even a need for this,” she said. “Why doesn’t the abortion industry—dominated by a ‘non-profit’ that has over a hundred million in the bank—lower its prices instead? Because it’s all about profit for them.”
How can Ragsdale claim to work for God, who specifically tells us in the Bible not to murder, calls homosexuality an abomination, and admonishes us to, once married, have many children?
Ragsdale is the exact kind of “Christian” leftist activists love. To them, she proves just how bigoted and hateful the rest of us other Christians really are because we won’t abandon the Word of God to bend to their social engineering.
In her speech at the pro-abortion rally, she stated, “The ability to enjoy God’s good gift of sexuality without compromising one’s education, life’s work, or ability to put to use God’s gifts and call is simply [a] blessing.”
Wow.
If God has called you to do work for Him, that work will not require you to kill your unborn baby. Motherhood is one of the highest callings any woman can possibly have; to claim there is work God would have a woman do that would require the sacrifice of her own child is utter blasphemy against our holy and perfect God, who gives us life.
God is clearly not calling us to be sexually “free” and to use abortion as birth control just so we can enjoy the “gift of sexuality,” as Ragsdale insanely implies. That assertion is too deranged to justify spending time to refute.
The Bible tells us clearly that we cannot serve two masters and that we will know Christians by their works. What work is Ragsdale doing by encouraging and facilitating the murder of innocent children? She is clearly not serving the Lord.
Planned Parenthood and the LGBT community have certainly found fierce advocates in people like Ragsdale. She is like a poorly-concealed double agent for the progressive left, working to further their agenda while posing as spiritual leaders, all the while doing great damage to the cause of the God they claim to serve.
Nonetheless, Jesus tells us to love our enemies and to do good to them that hate us. If ever anyone needs prayer from the faithful children of God, it’s people like Ragsdale and those she is deceiving.
If you appreciate the work we are doing to fight the leftist assault on our values, please consider a small donation to help us continue. Thank you so much!
