Australian Taxpayers Could Soon Foot the Bill for Teenage Breast Removal Surgery

The transgender agenda is ruining people’s lives. Whether this fact comes to fruition for victims of this ideology immediately or much later down the road, one thing is for sure, bodily mutilation and dangerous drugs are not the solution to gender dysphoria.

As we have reported, there are countless individuals who have made the decision to detransition back to their birth gender as they have found all the physical changes never brought them any closer to happiness. There are so many people, as a matter of fact, that the first Detransition Conference was recently held in the UK.

These voices are being silenced by the LGBT left,  who prefer stories of “brave” young people making the “bold” choice to “live their truth” and become a member of the opposite sex. Governments all around the world are happily going along with this dangerous narrative.

Now, there are reports that say Australians may soon be footing the bill for breast removal surgery for teenage girls under the age of 17. How disturbing is that?

According to Binary Australia, Dr. Michelle Telfer, Director of the RCH Gender Service, claims her clinic has spent the $6 million in funds provided by the government in 2015 and if they don’t receive additional funding the $6 million may only cover a third of its costs. Binary Australia reports that some of that money goes to funding outreach initiatives “to schoolchildren whose parents, cultures, or religions may not approve gender transition.”

Binary Australia:

She suggests trans youth are more expert than mental health clinicians when it comes to diagnosing their gender dysphoria, the condition of severe distress about one’s biological sex that unlocks access to medical treatment.

“A trans identity is something that’s so innately personal that really only that young person or adult (knows) about their gender and whether that’s a problem or not for them,” she says.

Telfer fails to acknowledge the influence of pre-existing issues — including mental health problems, autism, same-sex attraction, and family trauma — that critics claim are not properly investigated by gender-focused clinics.

Thankfully, there is pushback against this funding proposal. Australia’s National Association of Practising Psychiatrists President Philip Morris says, “I am concerned about the welfare of children – we have to be very sure that what we’re doing has the strongest evidence base available, particularly with medical and surgical interventions that are virtually impossible to fully reverse.”

It doesn’t seem to matter to transgender activists that these procedures are irreversible and that young children’s lives will be forever altered and changed before they can even fully mentally mature enough to actually consider the consequences of such decisions.

“This is an outrageous proposal on so many levels,” said Kirralie Smith, spokeswoman for Binary.

“Teenage breast mutilations should not be happening, and taxpayers certainly shouldn’t be asked to foot the bill.  This procedure is permanent. These girls will never be able to breastfeed.

“The evidence is weak to support the claims it is beneficial. Encouraging youth to surgically mutilate their bodies before reaching maturity is appalling! It is a biological, scientific fact that brain development doesn’t reach maturity until a person is into their 20’s. Stating kids know better than adults or doctors is simply unbelievable.

“Why is this clinic using government funding to promote these irreversible mutilations to kids?  RHC and the Victorian Government need to stop putting kids at risk. They should respect the concerns of parents who don’t want to see their daughters have their breasts permanently removed.”

More importantly, they should stop forcing this dangerous and victimizing ideology on the general public. It’s abhorrent that RHC is literally going out into the community and essentially recruiting children to become gender-confused. It makes it even worse that they insist the Australian people should pay for it, and subsequent child mutilation, with their hard-earned tax dollars with complete disregard to whether or not they are opposed to it.

Pray that Victoria’s Government does not force its constituents to be unwilling participants in this tragic effort to mutilate Australia’s youth.
