If you ever want a sneak peek at how awful socialism in practice actually is, rather than constantly listening to liberals play it up in “debates” and “dialogues,” look no farther than our neighbors to the north.
Canada has a single-payer, government run health care system and it’s the stuff nightmares are made of. The wait times to see specialists is absurdly long and it seems it’s only going to get worse. Doctors are frustrated, patients are frustrated, and many folks are going without the care they need.
Another prime example of big government ruining things is how Canada is now refusing to fund student summer jobs if the employer in question isn’t a supporter of abortion.
LifeSiteNews has more details?
The Liberal government of Justin Trudeau will ban any employer from receiving summer job grants for students if the employer doesn’t first sign an “attestation” that they agree with abortion and transgender “rights.”
The new criteria were sent to all MPs and will be made public when the Canada Summer Jobs Program officially opens December 19, 2017.
In order to receive federal Canada job grants, employers must attest that:
Both the job and the organization’s core mandate respect individual human rights in Canada, including the values underlying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as other rights. These include reproductive rights and the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, colour, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.
Conservative MP Brad Trost was first to publicly raise the alarm in a twitter and Facebook video in which he denounces the Liberals for discrimination.
“In practical terms, this means you have to be with the Liberal Party position on abortion, gay marriage, transgendered rights, all sorts of legislation in the House of Commons, otherwise you will be an ineligible employer for this program,” Trost said.
How sad and terrifying is it to think that many liberals in our own country would love to have a government like the one in Canada?
A government that says you have to agree with certain political positions in order to qualify for funding, and if you disagree and voice your dissent, you’ll be punished, is not the type of government you want to live under.
The Liberal Party in Canada is becoming more radicalized, just like the Democratic Party here in America, and it seems the ideology fueling both has a well cultivated hatred for anyone who is a person of faith who actually takes the Bible seriously.
To force someone to adopt your view of an issue is the exact opposite of tolerance and inclusivity, principles and ideas thrown around a ton by the left, but it if you examine their actions, they are but words, as the constant name calling, violence at protests, and other unsavory behavior make abundantly clear.
No one should be forced by the government to support something they believe is morally reprehensible, and when a government takes that sort of action they are clearly overstepping their boundaries.
