First the NFL, Now Elementary School Teachers Want to Make Everything Political

Remember when substitute teachers used to just play a movie and let you goof off during class? Not anymore. Apparently, because it’s 2017, they need to make dramatic political statements…even if you’re only in elementary school.

As if the NFL protests weren’t annoying enough, now an elementary school substitute teacher has taken it upon herself to demonstrate to her young students just how much she hates America.

Of course, she couldn’t just stop there.

When a class at Russell Street Elementary School in Littleton, Mass. had a substitute teacher for the day, the woman, who was not identified, decided to kneel during the Pledge of Allegiance.

Perhaps the thrill of whining on Facebook had gone for this substitute teacher because one cannot imagine why she’d feel compelled to make such a statement in a room full of small children.

After her dramatic kneeling statement, she went on to share with the students her political views, which considering they were in elementary school were probably far over the children’s heads.

Fox reports that her actions have been criticized across the country and that parents on both sides of the political spectrum feel this was completely inappropriate for her to do.

“I agree with what they’re doing, I just don’t think it’s the proper place for it,” a parent told NBC Boston. “I think trying to impart your own political views to students…I think it’s inappropriate.”

“I think it’s a conversation that needs to be had. I think it’s an important topic. Maybe that’s a difficult way to do it,” said another parent to WCVB.

The principal of the school released a statement saying, “While this topic is timely and does have educational merit, it should be addressed sensitively and age-appropriately by permanent faculty and inclusive of the beliefs of all children and families. While well-intended, this conversation was not part of the classroom teacher’s plans and should not have taken place in the fashion it did.”

This unidentified substitute teacher is not the only adult to try to drag small children into the kneeling protest, a little league football coach recently encouraged his 8-year-old players to kneel during the national anthem at a game.

One of the most disturbing cultural trends of our era is the way the left tries to make adults out of children. Whether this is by normalizing pedophilia by letting them touch completely naked men in the name of ‘art’ or lecturing them about police shootings or racial inequality in the classroom, today’s parents and teachers need to stop treating children like adults.

The elementary school classroom is not the place to indoctrinate young children with your personal political beliefs!
