Flooding In Texas: Boats On Land, A Man Fishing In His Own Home, And More

With Hurricane Harvey flooding the south of Texas, stories of the flood are emerging on social media.

In Dickinson, Texas, people were navigating through the streets – on boats.

In Houston, Texas, a man went fishing – inside his own house.

A picture of a dog carrying a bag of food around Sinton, Texas, went viral. Otis, a German shepherd mix, got loose Friday night from a screened-in back porch. He is back with his owners now.

The runway of Houston’s Hobby Airport was completely flooded, and the city of Houston is seeing record flooding.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has urged Texans to stay off the roads.

It’s possible Hurricane Harvey may gather strength and strike the south of Texas again.

When it comes time to help rebuild, please remember to research the organizations you choose to donate to. The Red Cross, for example, has been caught on many occasions hoarding donations, rather than helping those in need.
