The U.S. isn’t the only country in which wealthy leftist George Soros tries to influence public opinion and policy by funneling money into protest movements. He can’t keep his nose out of other countries’ business, either!
According to Life Site News, as the Polish government moved to ban abortion almost entirely earlier this year, the pro-abortion “black protests” that erupted were largely funded by none other than Soros himself.
Life Site News writes that Poland’s Ordo Iuris Institute presented a report last month detailing where the funding for the country’s “marginal feminist movement” came from.
“It traced most of the money to organizations funded directly or indirectly by Hungarian-American financier George Soros. Poland’s pro-abortion groups received about one million Polish zloty to block the Polish government’s 2016 attempt to completely ban abortion,” they report.
The Global Fund for Women, a partner and legatee of George Soros’ Open Society Foundations which is dedicated to promoting abortion around the world, even boasts on their website that they were behind the protests:
“Global Fund for Women’s unique approach in investing in ‘tipping points’ — critical moments for political or social turmoil — is also essential to our crisis response approach, as evidenced in Poland. When a total ban on abortions was proposed by the government in early 2016, Global Fund for Women supported ASTRA Network to help mount a powerful resistance.
“With crisis support provided in April, ASTRA Network built a broad coalition of women’s groups and other grassroots [sic] organizations across Poland to raise awareness about the threat to women’s health and human rights. They launched effective media campaigns to put pressure on the government throughout 2016 leading up to massive “Black Monday” strikes that led Poland’s parliament to withdraw the proposed legislation in October.”
Life Site News explains that the ASTRA Network is a subsidiary of the Polish feminist group, “Federation for Women and Family Planning,” known as Federa. GFW donated £12,000 to Federa through ASTRA last year, while another pro-abortion group, Women’s Cooperative Foundation, also involved in the black protests, received $10,000 from GFW last year as well.
GFW also financially supports the Canadian International Network of Women’s Funds, which, through their partner MamaCash, gave at least 110,000 Euros to another Polish pro-abortion organization, Ponton.
It just keeps going. The International Women’s Health Coalition, (IWHC) is also funded by Soros’ Open Society Institute and also supported the “black protests.” According to IWHC’s website, they gave grants to ASTRA to “lead protests and a women’s strike.” In all of 2016 they gave ASTRA $40,000 in total, while Federa received $40,080 from IWHC in 2015.
“It turns out that the (IWHC) organization has been sponsoring seminars and junkets (for Polish pro-abortion activists) for years,” the Ordo Iuris report says. “It is worth noting that as early as 2014, IWHC trained Polish women activists on the ‘leadership skills needed to work effectively for sexual and reproductive rights,’ among them lobbying workshops.”
Ordo Iuris also notes that even one of the media outlets invited to participate in the black protests, Agora S.A. group, is tied to Soros’ Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF).
It is amazing that this Hungarian financier spends so much of his time trying to influence policy and cause upheaval in countries he’s not even from. The man is pure evil, and we must continue to expose it when he puts his dirty mitts in another country’s business!!
