Harvey is a storm of epic proportions that has left an unfathomable amount of destruction behind. Portions of the great state of Texas have been devastated, and families in affected areas have had their lives flipped upside down.
We’ve all been captivated by the stirring images and videos that have emanated from the frightening scene. By extension, we’ve all been inspired by the absolutely amazing stories of rescue and folks coming together.
While it can be hard to look through the carnage to find a bright spot, Harvey really has brought out the best in folks. Here’s another example of that, and it comes from a company that’s stepping up to the plate in a big way.
As Fox News shares, “Bass Pro Shops is providing more than 80 boats to support rescue and relief operations in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.”
As we’ve all seen, those boats will go a long way towards bringing even more folks to safety. Complete strangers have been racing to the scene to place their boats in service as well. If that doesn’t fill you up with feelings of hope and inspiration, there’s probably not much that will do the trick in that regard.
Unfortunately, there is another end of the spectrum. Harvey has also brought out the worst in some people.

Folks that have had their lives upended are in fear for their own safety, and the same applies for people that are just trying to help as many as they can.
That’s incredibly challenging to wrap our heads around. How can there be such a vast difference in motivations on full display?
There’s no easy answer to that. We’ll take a small sense of solace in the fact that tons of folks are showing what they’re truly made of. That applies to the looters as well, and we’ll keep our fingers crossed that they’re all caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
