Los Angeles School District Set Up to Begin LGBTQ-Friendly Sex Ed as Early as 4th Grade

Where else other than California would public schools be purchasing a sex ed curriculum for children as young as nine that made sure to shed a positive light on LGBTQ relationships?

Sure enough, “Puberty: The Wonder Years,” a sex ed course written by a famed health educator and nurse, Wendy Sellers, is set to be taught in select LA public schools starting as early as 4th grade starting next year, according to the LA Times.

“Ignorance doesn’t help anyone,” the LA Times claims is Sellers’ reason for pushing sex ed on children this young.

“(Students) should be able to learn about the very normal natural changes that happen for everyone as they grow,” she says.

Making sure students are prepared for the physical changes of puberty is one thing, of course, but that is not all they’ll get out of these lessons:

“It’s also inclusive of LGTBQ identities and doesn’t assume traditional gender roles in describing relationships,” the LA Times explains. Ah, there it is. Of course.

“There’s no specific lesson to define same-sex relationships, but rather examples of same-sex couples are integrated into lessons,” it continues. Awesome, not only is it present in the lessons, it’s treated as normal, to mold young, impressionable minds.

What this has to do with puberty is unclear. But the driving ideology behind it is quite clear.

“Kids are just unflapped by this,” Sellers says. “It’s old people that are having a hard time getting used to it.”

There’s a word for that–it’s called indoctrination.

While Sellers says the lessons encourage “waiting” for sex (we’re guessing this does not mean until marriage), lessons on how to use contraceptives are added as early as 6th grade.

Sellers’ course couldn’t teach abstinence even if it wanted to, however, because according to California’s Education Code, they are not even allowed to teach “abstinence-only” sex ed.

“Sellers is set to visit Los Angeles at the end of this month to train LAUSD teachers on the curriculum, the LA Times report concludes. “The district has bought enough teaching sets, with a $24,000 federal grant, to use the curriculum in up to about 50 schools, though 10 or 15 schools are more likely.”

Again, we expect this from California at this point, but that just goes to show how much this ideology is winning. The left is determined to normalize immoral sexual behavior as well as rip our children’s innocence from them as young as possible.

The lie that failing to teach children “sex ed” leaves them at a disadvantage has been pushed for far too long. Since the radical changes in cultural attitudes towards sex occurred in the 1960’s, out-of-wedlock births have skyrocketed, not to mention the near 60 million babies who have been murdered since the passing of Roe v. Wade.

Teaching children simply biology does not necessitate in the least pushing the leftist agenda of normalizing immoral sexual behavior or casual sex. Teaching children how to use contraception certainly may intend to prevent pregnancy, but it simultaneously creates a culture of general acceptance for extramarital sex, which is completely detrimental to our society.

These public school teachers are leading young children down a dangerous path–one that will not end well for them.

But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6 ESV
