Majority of Americans Oppose Allowing Trans Female Athletes to Compete Against Biological Women

There are plenty of issues currently being debated on the “rights” of gender-confused individuals to force society to accommodate their delusions. While most Americans believe these people should be treated with compassion and respect regardless of whether or not they affirm their “gender identity,” when it comes to the issue of biological men insisting they be allowed to participate in women’s sports, some of the most otherwise “tolerant” individuals are drawing a line.

Rasmussen Reports released its latest poll on the issue which revealed that a majority of Americans, 51%, do not support trans “females” being allowed to compete in women’s sports.

The Washington Times reports:

A Rasmussen Reports poll released Friday found that 51% of U.S. adults surveyed opposed allowing athletes compete on the basis of their gender identity, including biological males who participate in women’s and girls’ sports.

Only 29% supported “allowing transgender students to participate on the sports teams of the gender they identify with,” while 20% were undecided, the survey said.

The results of the poll, taken Oct. 31-Nov. 2, were virtually identical to a Rasmussen survey released in June, which found only 28% favored allowing transgender students “to participate on the sports team of the gender they identify with,” while 54% were opposed.

It looks as though Americans are not budging on this topic and rightfully so. It makes no  sense to allow men to compete against women in the sports arena. Despite the fact that the transgender movement has been picking up steam in the last several years, this is one area that doesn’t match that success. Could it be because most people acknowledge the fact that men are biologically different than women and they have obvious physical advantages?

We aren’t implying that all trans female athletes are just using gender-confusion as a means to get an advantage in sports, but it’s hard to ignore the possibility that in some cases this will be true. .

Consider the case of Selina Soule, a Connecticut high school student being represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom in a federal complaint opened after she lost a race to two trans female (biological male) athletes and failed to qualify for the New England regionals as a result.

“One of the athletes who displaced Selina previously competed against other male athletes in the winter 2018 season and failed to advance in boys’ indoor track events,” the Alliance Defending Freedom said. “It wasn’t until that athlete began competing in girls’ events during the 2018 spring season that the dominance began. This biological male now holds more than 10 records within the state of Connecticut that once belonged to 10 different girls.”

Seems like awfully convenient timing to suddenly decide to act on supposed gender-confusion. Perhaps they are genuinely suffering from gender dysphoria, nonetheless, they clearly have an unfair advantage over biological female athletes. Period. And gender-confused or no, the hard work of these biological female athletes cannot be bulldozed over to accommodate people who will just so happen to benefit greatly athletically should their gender confusion be acknowledged by these sports leagues.

Nonetheless, the far-left relentlessly tries to convince us that it’s a “myth” that bio athletes may have an “advantage.”

Seriously?

“The myth that trans women have a ‘direct competitive advantage’ is not supported by medical science, and it continues to stoke fear and violence against one of the most at-risk communities in the world,” Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said in a Jan. 31 letter in support of a transgender powerlifter excluded from the women’s events.

Unsurprisingly, she’s wrong. Medical science most definitely supports men’s ‘direct competitive advantage’ over women.

What’s even more troubling is that in May, House Democrats approved the ‘Equality Act.’ On Sunday the Washington Times noted:

In May, House Democrats approved the Equality Act, which would ban discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation, despite opposition from Republicans who said it would erode the ability of females to participate in competitive sports.

Apparently, it doesn’t matter to those in Congress that the majority of Americans do not support this. Representatives like Omar are only interested in pushing the radical LGBT agenda no matter what her actual constituents want and she clearly isn’t alone.

We need to fight the Equality Act tooth and nail.
