Middle School Teacher Assigns Letter to Students to Pressure Lawmakers Into Gun Control

So, the name of Jesus has been positively banned from public schools for years, but it’s OK for a teacher to project his own political biases on the students?

In an incredibly extreme case of public school indoctrination, a middle school teacher was recently caught assigning her students a letter-writing assignment explicitly for the purpose of pressuring lawmakers into passing more gun control.

No doubt this teacher has no interest in actually protecting his students by carrying a gun herself or requesting that her school employs armed guards, no, he obviously feels that pressuring lawmakers to limit your sacred Second Amendment rights would be far more effective. And he wants to use your children to achieve this.

Late last month, social studies students at Hampton Middle School in Hampton, Georgia were assigned the “R.A.F.T” letter, and when parents saw the assignment their children came home with, they were incredibly troubled. It read, according to The Daily Wire:

R.A.F.T Paper

Role of the writer: You are a concerned student at Hampton Middle School.

Audience: You are writing to the lawmakers of the United States.

Format: You are writing a letter.

Topic: You are trying to persuade lawmakers to have stricter gun laws to help prevent another school shooting from taking place.

For this assignment, you are writing a letter to the lawmakers of the United States. The purpose of this letter [is] to pressure lawmakers to have stricter gun laws in the United States. Your letter should contain at least five complete sentences. Make sure that you use proper grammatical skills when writing your letter.

“My biggest concern was, what was the intent of the assignment? You know, I found out that it didn’t have anything to with what they were supposed to be learning in that social studies class … it only gave them one perspective from which to write, and that in itself I didn’t think was appropriate,” said William Lee, a parent, speaking to Fox News.

He added that he was also concerned not knowing whether or not the letters would be sent to anyone. When Lee told the teacher, Corey Sanders, that his son would not be doing the assignment, Sanders assured him Lee’s son would not receive a negative grade.

Henry County School District responded to Fox News’ request for comment, saying: “We do not condone the actions that transpired. It has been handled appropriately with the teacher to ensure they know this is not acceptable and won’t happen again.” The district added, “We would never approve of a politically biased assignment or directive given by a teacher.”

While it is good the school district is taking account of how incredibly inappropriate this assignment was, but what then? Will this teacher honestly remain employed? How many more teachers are brainwashing their students without being addressed?

Be vigilant, parents, you never know what is being slipped into your children’s lessons at school!
