Many actresses and actors in Hollywood are feeling emboldened to speak out against those who sexually harassed or assaulted them when they were younger.
It has certainly been quite interesting to see Hollywood culture cave in on itself, but also infuriating to see the double-standards leftist celebrities are applying to the revelations.
One such double standard is the way the media has treated Kevin Spacey over the last two days.
Yesterday, BuzzFeed broke the news that actor Anthony Rapp, from Rent and Star Trek: Discovery felt compelled to share his experience of sexual misconduct in Hollywood after the Weinstein accusers began to come forward.
He says that in 1986, Kevin Spacey invited him to a party, and, when the guests had left, picked him up, put him on a bed, and crawled on top of him.
At the time, Spacey was 26, and Rapp was 14 years old.
Rapp says that as he perceived Spacey to simply be very drunk, he pushed him off of him and left. But over the years, he says, his understanding of what the incident really meant has grown as he has.
“My stomach churns,” Rapp said. “I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me.”
After the story was published, Spacey claimed not to remember the incident, but offered up an ideal leftist cover for his actions: he came out as gay.
“But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” Spacey wrote.
“This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life. I know that there are other stories out there about me and that some have been fueled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy,” he continued, adding, “I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I now choose to live life as a gay man.”
Well, the media took the bait.
Reuters got slammed for choosing to focus on the fact that Spacey came out, rather than the fact that he attempted to molest a child, as did the New York Daily News:
In both articles, MediaIte.com says, Rapp’s revelations are not mentioned until several paragraphs into the article.
As if it is perfectly acceptable to molest a 14-year-old if you come out as gay?!
Even the most radically left Twitter users were outraged at the lack of journalistic integrity of these headlines.

Wanda Sykes, who is gay, busted Spacey out of trying to hide behind his sexuality.
No no no no no! You do not get to “choose” to hide under the rainbow! Kick rocks! https://t.co/xJDGAxDjxz

All too true! Time for some consistency, mainstream media! Sexual abuse is sexual abuse, it doesn’t matter if the abuser is homosexual or not.
How disturbing is it that these media outlets were all too ready to brush away pedophilia by someone who tried to cover it up with the fact that he was gay? This is the direction our country is heading.
Christians have been warning that the widespread acceptance of homosexuality is a slippery slope to pedophilia for years, and well, here we go. Let’s just hope we can slam on the breaks before it’s too late!
