Renowned Theology Professor Claims Jesus Was ‘Drag King’ With ‘Kinky’ Desires

This is one of those stories that is almost too shocking for words. Just when you think intersectionality and leftist ideology can’t get any crazier, someone like this dude comes along.

The dude in question is not, as you would imagine, a radical, leftist homosexual activist or something, he’s actually a theology professor at a renowned Catholic university, with an impressive list of credentials to teach on and speak about the Bible.

And yet…he’s clearly lost his ever-loving mind.

Dr. Tat-siong Benny Liew is chair of New Testament Studies at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. He has written a number of papers on Biblical interpretation and New Testament theology, has a PhD from Vanderbilt University, and a number of important research positions at various theological universities across the country.

However, his recent writings on Jesus that assert the Son of God was a cross-dresser with a proclivity for bizarre sexual experiences will make you question that he’s ever read a Bible.

“[Christ] ends up appearing as a drag-kingly bride in his passion,” he argues. “If one follows the trajectory of the Wisdom/Word or Sophia/Jesus (con)figuration, what we have in John’s Jesus is not only a ‘king of Israel’ or ‘king of the Ioudaioi [Jews],’ but also a drag king.”

His bizarre rantings are based on the Gospel of John, although clearly most of his reasoning is derived from his own strange imagination, as he goes on to describe the crucifixion as a “(homo)sexual bonding of the Father and the Son.”

Our apologies for the shock you must be experiencing that one would describe the suffering of our Lord and Savior for the sins of all mankind in such a disgusting way.

“What I am suggesting is that,” he Liew continues, “when Jesus’ body is being penetrated, his thoughts are on his Father. He is, in other words, imagining his passion experience as a (masochistic?) sexual relation with his own Father.”

We have to apologize once again, because…it gets worse.

Liew goes on to argue that the moment when He encouraged Thomas to put his finger in His wound after the Resurrection, this was “to perform a kind of pan-eroticism.”

Fox News describes the rest of his incredibly twisted interpretation of the Gospel of John:

And the Last Supper, when Jesus washed his disciples feet, was a “seductive,” “literary striptease” and a “womanly/slavishly task” used as an example of John’s transgender interpretation of Jesus, the professor claims.

The religious studies professor also argues John’s multiple references of Jesus wanting water, giving water, and leaking water “speak to Jesus’ gender indeterminacy and hence his cross-dressing and other queer desire.”

Because of all this, Liew argues that while John makes it clear Jesus was a Jew, he leaves open “whether Jesus is a biological male.”

Because there is still some decency left in the world, faculty, students, and parents alike were shocked by these incredibly blasphemous ideas about Jesus. One parent told Fox News that they’d sent their son to Holy Cross for the “conservative Christian values” but now they’re being “shattered” and they are wondering if their son should now transfer schools.

The college president, Phillip Boroughs, even questioned Liew’s words, although clearly not sternly enough, saying, “I know Professor Liew to be a dedicated teacher and an engaged scholar. He is a man of faith, and he and his family are active members of a church community. Academic freedom is one of the hallmarks of a liberal arts education. Scholars in all disciplines are free to inquire, critique, comment, and push boundaries on widely accepted thought. However, I strongly disagree with the interpretation of John’s Gospel, as described in the Fenwick Review, and I find it especially offensive in this most sacred of all weeks in the liturgical calendar.”
