With the murder of children in the womb being the most important issue of our time, it’s very disturbing to see the left, who claim to be all about equal rights, fighting tooth and nail to make sure this horrific crime remains legal.
Leftists will organize large protests to express their desire to be able to kill little ones, not caring about the fact they are violating the child’s most basic, God-given right.
In a truly disgusting and ironic display, a member of the Satanic Temple is suing the state of Missouri to overturn a pro-life law they claim violates her “religious liberty.”
LifeNews has the details:
NBC News reports the court is scheduled to hear the Satanic Temple’s appeal Tuesday. A federal judge threw out the case in 2016, saying the plaintiff, “Mary Doe,” a member of the Satanic Temple, failed to show “sufficiently concrete injuries.”
The Satanic Temple alleges that Missouri trampled on Doe’s religious rights by requiring that she undergo an ultrasound and receive information about her unborn baby’s development, abortion risks and alternatives to abortion. The state law also requires that a woman take 72 hours to consider the information before going through with the abortion.
“Missouri’s state-mandated informed consent booklets explicitly say that life begins at conception, which is a nonmedical religious viewpoint that many people disagree with,” said Satanic Temple leader Jex Blackmore in a statement Monday. “Forcing women to read this information and then wait 72-hours to consider the State’s opinion is a clear violation of the Establishment Clause.”
However, state attorneys said the Satanists’ case is weak.
“Even if Doe has alleged a restriction on free exercise (of religion), the Informed Consent Law clearly serves compelling state interests and is not unduly restrictive on Doe’s asserted exercise of religion,” they said in court papers on Sept. 21.
A spokeswoman for the Satanic Temple, Jex Blackmore, claims the woman’s religious rights are being ignored, stating “The State has essentially established a religious indoctrination program intended to push a single ideological viewpoint,” Blackmore said in a statement. “The law is intended to punish women who disagree with this opinion.”
According to Satanist belief, informed consent violates two tenants of their core beliefs, the first being “one’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will,” and secondly “beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.”
First off, the unborn child growing in the womb is a unique, distinct person with their own body. Aborting that baby is murdering a whole separate human being, which means these satanists would be guilty of violating their own principle each time they head to the clinic.
Secondly, it’s a well established fact that science has already confirmed that life begins at the moment of conception. Here’s a few samples from studies taken from a list compiled by Princeton University:
“Development of the embryo begins at Stage 1 when a sperm fertilizes an oocyte and together they form a zygote.” [England, Marjorie A. Life Before Birth. 2nd ed. England: Mosby-Wolfe, 1996, p.31]
“Human development begins after the union of male and female gametes or germ cells during a process known as fertilization (conception).
“Fertilization is a sequence of events that begins with the contact of a sperm (spermatozoon) with a secondary oocyte (ovum) and ends with the fusion of their pronuclei (the haploid nuclei of the sperm and ovum) and the mingling of their chromosomes to form a new cell. This fertilized ovum, known as a zygote, is a large diploid cell that is the beginning, or primordium, of a human being.”
[Moore, Keith L. Essentials of Human Embryology. Toronto: B.C. Decker Inc, 1988, p.2]
“Almost all higher animals start their lives from a single cell, the fertilized ovum (zygote)… The time of fertilization represents the starting point in the life history, or ontogeny, of the individual.”
[Carlson, Bruce M. Patten’s Foundations of Embryology. 6th edition. New York: McGraw-Hill, 1996, p. 3]
Oh but the evidence doesn’t there.
In their latest edition of The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology, professors Keith Moore, TVN Persaud, and Mark Torchia shed significant light on the development of the human person – and they don’t shy away from the reality of when life begins. Here are six revealing quotes on fetal development:
“Human development is a continuous process that begins when an oocyte from a female is fertilized by a sperm from a male.”
“Human development begins at fertilization when a sperm fuses with an oocyte to form a single cell, the zygote.”
“All major external and internal structures are established during the fourth to eighth weeks.”
“Upper limb buds are recognizable at day 26 or 27 as small swellings on the ventrolateral body walls.”
“Embryos in the sixth week show spontaneous movements, such as twitching of the trunk and developing limbs.”
“By the end of this week (8th week), the embryo has distinct human characteristics; however, the head is still disproportionately large, constituting almost half of the embryo.”
In other words, satanists who support abortion are violating both of their so-called core beliefs, making them rather large hypocrites who are incredibly inconsistent in their expression of “faith.”
Abortion is the Civil Rights issue of our day and if we truly value life, all life, we need to abolish it now and make it a criminal offense. Not to do so is a miscarriage of justice.
