SICK: Boston Babysitters Arrested After Filming Themselves Putting A Baby In The Fridge

Two teenage babysitters have reportedly been arrested after filming themselves placing a crying baby in a refrigerator and posting the footage on the social media platform Snapchat.

According to The Boston Herald, the teens – which have not been named due to their age – are facing child endangerment and assault charges in connection with the incident.

In the footage  of their sick “joke,” filmed Monday, the teens can be seeing placing the baby in the fridge and laughing as she cries inside.

After several seconds, they retrieve the baby and – still laughing – declare, “see? She’s okay.”

According to The Boston Herald, the footage caused quite a stir online and was picked up by several news outlets across the country.

Eventually, on Tuesday, the teens were arrested and arraigned in Essex Juvenile Court.

The Boston Herald quotes the baby’s mother as identifying one of the teens in the video as her niece.

“My daughter is okay,” she reportedly said. “I want everyone to know that I was not aware of the situation and it’s very unfortunate. It’s very foolish. They didn’t do it trying to harm my daughter, they did it as, like, playing around.”

However, the mother reportedly added, “I will no longer be leaving my children with my niece or her friend ever again in my life.”

The Boston Herald further quotes several nearby residents as expressing their disgust with the clip and the fact that it was posted online.

“It’s really disgusting,” one woman reportedly said. “What happened to the morals of kids? I just don’t understand. I don’t know what these two were thinking. Obviously, they weren’t.”

Many people online have expressed similarly disgusted sentiments.
