It’s about time for some good news on the education front, isn’t it?
These days, most of the news we hear about our nation’s school is how vulgar and unnecessarily graphic sex ed lessons have become, or just how hard leftists push to make sure children as young as 5 are being indoctrinated daily with the LGBT agenda.
This week, it is being reported that the heartland state of South Dakota is considering legislation that would ban “gender identity lessons” from state schools.
“No instruction in gender identity or gender expression may be provided to any student in kindergarten through grade seven in any public school in the state,” the text of the proposed bill reads.
Independent Journal review reports that should the law pass, SD would be the first state in the nation to approve such legislation.
Although Education Department spokeswoman Mary Stadick Smith says she is unaware of any such lessons taking place in any elementary or middle schools, the sponsors of the bill have heard the concern of their constituents that gender identity education has no place in elementary or middle schools.
“I think we need to be focusing on reading, writing and arithmetic,” said state Sen. Phil Jensen (R), who sponsored the bill, to the AP last week.
Why is it that this has become such a standard part of public school education that we actually need to try to ban it?!
It is good to see legislators in South Dakota making a stand for common sense and protecting their publically-educated citizens from the unnecessary and confusing ideological brainwashing that is “gender identity.”
Children in our tax-payer funded schools only need to be taught facts, not fundamentally ideological perceptions of reality, the teaching of which directly violate the rights of parents to espouse upon their children their religious or philosophical beliefs.
There was a time in this country when it was commonly accepted among certain groups of people that black people were subhuman. It would be abhorrent if this pseudo-scientific, blatantly ideological concept were taught to our school children, and yet the pseudo-scientific and patently false notion that gender is fluid and can be changed at will is taught across the country in institutions that we pay for and that are supposed to provide an education for our nation’s children.
If you live in South Dakota, make sure to find your legislator and voice your support for this bill!
You can send them this message:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a concerned citizen of South Dakota who was very pleased to hear of the proposed bill that would ban gender identity education in our state elementary and middle schools.
I urge you as my elected representative to vote “yes” on this bill. It is not the business of public schools to teach our children anything of this nature.
We have a right to protect our children from an ideology that does not conform to our own, and public schools have no right to undermine our values.
