Stop the Sexualization of Children During National Television Events

If there is anything all Americans should be able to agree on, it’s that it’s wrong to sexually objectify women.

So why have we abandoned the notion that it is society’s responsibility to raise up young men who do not see women as sexual objects and young women who will not allow themselves to be treated as much?

There was a time in this nation where nationally-televised events were family-friendly, wholesome, and decent.

If you caught Pepsi’s Super Bowl LIV Half Time Show you will know that this is no longer the case.

The highly suggestive and downright vulgar dancing from pop stars Shakira and Jennifer Lopez was incredibly inappropriate for an audience of millions that included many small children.

Is this the kind of message we want our children exposed to?

With all the filth and smut out there, is it too much to ask that the biggest television event of the year be family-friendly?

As Pastor Franklin Graham noted, “I don’t expect the world to act like the church, but our country has had a sense of moral decency on prime time television in order to protect children. We see that disappearing before our eyes.”

He continued, “This exhibition was Pepsi showing young girls that sexual exploitation of women is okay. With the exploitation of women on the rise worldwide, instead of lowering the standard, we as a society should be raising it.”

Amen!

We are sending a message to the FCC that it is wrong to support the sexual exploitation of women on a platform viewed by hundreds of thousands of children with no warning whatsoever. In what sort of world do you want to raise your children?

Please sign our petition and stand up for basic decency on the airwaves.

Sign the petition and we’ll send the following to the Federal Communications Commission on your behalf:

For the attention of the FCC:

Super Bowl LIV’s Half Time Show was an over-the-top display of sexualization and objectification.

We demand that such sexually-suggestive performances and content no longer be allowed on network television where children of all ages are sure to see it.

Events like the Super Bowl should be family-friendly.

Please clean up our airwaves and make them safe for viewers of all ages!
