Texas Teenager Who Refused Arranged Marriage Brutally Abused By Parents

The left would have you believe that the right-wing dream for the United States resembles The Handmaiden’s Tale, when any cursory study of Muslim culture would indicate that the reality many Muslim women live under is in reality much closer to Marget Atwood’s dystopian vision of sexual slavery and oppression.

Tuesday is, according to trending social media hashtag,s #MuslimWomensDay, a phrase which probably evokes quite a bit of emotion if you have even a basic working knowledge of the regard with which many Muslim women are held in their communities.

Yes, it is true that many moderate and Western Muslim women are able to live with the same privileges and liberties that non-Muslim women are afforded, but it is impossible to deny the deep-seated brutally oppressive culture that violently subjugates millions of women and girls and is based on the textual sources of Islam.

A recent case of horrific abuse at the hands of Islamist parents gives us a sobering reminder of how very incompatible Muslim culture is with our own. Maarib Al Hishmawi was an average high school student living in Texas, only when she rebelled against her parents’ wishes, it was because they wanted to sell her off to a husband, and they punished her with beatings and hot oil.

The New York Post reports:

Maarib Al Hishmawi, 16, was reported missing on Jan. 30 after she was last seen leaving Taft High School in Bexar County. She was located in mid-March when she was taken in by an organization that cared for her after she ran away, KSAT reported.

Authorities on Friday said Al Hishmawi’s parents — Abdulah Fahmi Al Hishmawi, 34, and Hamdiyah Saha Al Hishmawi, 33 — had allegedly beaten their daughter with a broomstick and poured hot cooking oil on her when she refused to marry a man in another city. The parents reportedly agreed to the arranged marriage in exchange for $20,000.

“This young lady, at various times over that time period was subjected to some pretty bad abuse because she didn’t want to be married to this person,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said on Friday, according to KSAT.

“Several times it was reported to us that this young lady was abused with hot cooking oil being thrown on her body. She was beat with broomsticks,” Salazar added. “At least at one point, she was choked almost to the point of unconsciousness.”

Maarib and her siblings, raging ages 5-15, have been taken into custody of CPS and her parents are being charged with domestic abuse. The man they wanted her to marry may also be facing charges.

In the West, we absolutely cannot tolerate this kind of treatment of anyone, let alone a young girl who still relies on her parents for guidance and protection. Far too many honor crimes and killings have gone unnoticed by our mainstream media.

Please share this article and set the record straight that the abuse of young girls has no place in our society!
