Tragedy in Las Vegas Quickly Becomes Worst Shooting in U.S. History

Across the nation, we woke up to the news that a terrible mass shooting had taken place at a country music festival in Las Vegas. Police are currently saying that over 50 people have been killed and over 400 rushed to the hospital.

The worst shooting in U.S. history until last night had been the Orlando Nightclub shooting, in which 49 people were killed and 58 wounded.

The shooter, Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old white male from Mesquite, Nevada, ended his own life after raining bullets down on the crowd from the 34th story of the Mandalay Bay resort. His motive is unclear, although there are rumors that he was part of Antifa and also that he was a recent convert to Islam. Nothing has been confirmed yet.

All we know is that he was a terribly depraved person who was so far lost in his own sin that he was led to commit a heinous act of terrorism.

At least 50 people will never go home, will never hug their family members, enjoy music, dance, laugh, sing, or praise again.

Our prayers are with the victims and their family members. Please pray for God to work mightly and quickly heal the injured. Please pray that God would be with the first responders and hospital staff as they cope with this massive crisis. Please pray for the witnesses that they can find peace in the midst of chaos.

Events like this remind us of just how much the world needs Jesus. When people become ruled by sin, anger, and deranged mental states, horrible things can happen.
