U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Thursday that the world is in need of a supreme level of multilateral global governance that could override problematic “national interests.”
This came as he complained that existing U.N. entities, such as the Security Council, have teeth but “show little or no appetite to bite,” Breitbart reports.
Friday marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the U.N. Charter which established the globalist organization, an occasion which Guterres says shows us there is a need to “reimagine the way nations cooperate.”
“We need a networked multilateralism, bringing together the U.N. system, regional organizations, international financial institutions, and others. And we need an inclusive multilateralism, drawing on the indispensable contributions of civil society, business, cities, regions and, in particular, with greater weight given to the voices of youth,” Guterres said at a virtual press conference on Thursday.

He continued on to say that in the 21st century, governments are no longer the only aspect of how politics and power are exercised, adding that “we need an effective multilateralism that can function as an instrument of global governance where it is needed.”
“The problem is that today’s multilateralism lacks scale, ambition and teeth. And some of the instruments that do have teeth, show little or no appetite to bite, as has recently been the case with the difficulties faced by the Security Council,” he said.
When asked exactly what the U.N. has achieved in the course of the last 75 years (fair question), Guterres replied that “at least the Third World War so many people have predicted was avoided.
“We had what many called the ‘long peace’ with many small conflicts, but conflicts in which the big powers did not get involved against each other.”
Does this sound like a man who has any interest in protecting the rights of we the people here in the United States, or the constitutions of the hundreds of sovereign nations around the world?
No. This sounds like a man who wants the globalist U.N. to have more power and the people, wherever they may be, to have less.
