The LGBT community, a group that constantly slams Christians and others who don’t support their lifestyle or worldview as being intolerant, are so unhappy with comments made by evangelist Franklin Graham they want to ban him from the UK.
Apparently all of that awesome “tolerance” we hear so much about is only reserved for those who share the same worldview as the LGBT mafia, because they sure aren’t too keen on sharing it with those who think differently.
Parliamentarians in Britain, along with 6,000 citizens have signed a petition to ban Graham for using “hate speech” against “Muslims” and “LGBT people.”
Graham is supposed to speak in Blackpool in the UK in September of 2018.
LifeSiteNews has further details:
The evangelist has taken a strong Biblical stance against homosexuality, calling it “a sin” and warning those engaging in homosexual acts about the judgment of God. He has called Christians to boycott businesses that promote the LGBT agenda. He criticized Disney earlier this year for its remake of Beauty and the Beast that promotes homosexuality. “They’re trying to push the LGBT agenda into the hearts and minds of your children,” he said. “Watch out!”
The evangelists has also been an outspoken champion of the right to life of the preborn. He said earlier this year that fundraising for Planned Parenthood “is like raising money to fund a Nazi death camp.” He has also not shied away from pointing out how Islam is antithetical to Christianity.
A Change.org petition accuses Graham of harboring hatred for Muslims and people with same-sex attraction.
“Unlike his father, Billy Graham, Franklin Graham engages in outspoken bigotry targeting refugees, Muslims and LGBT people. His father promoted unity and respect in communities but Franklin Graham’s extreme views promote prejudice and division,” the petition states.
What’s even more disturbing is the movement against Graham is gaining traction at a time when the British government has been remaining silent on whether or not a person proclaiming their faith in Christ in public could be considered guilty of a “hate crime.”
It’s always terrifying to see government officials more or less declare war on God and His people in such an overt and egregious manner. After all, God is a righteous ruler who will not be mocked by His creation.
What’s scary for us as Americans is that many liberals and progressives adore the UK and their socialist government and wish to emulate it here at home, so however they rule on the issue of public proclamations of faith will impact how the leftists here attempt to push that part of their agenda.
The problem with “hate crimes” rests in the fact the government — politicians who regularly rotate seats — get to make up the definitions for the behaviors to be included in such a classification, and that’s guaranteed to change frequently.
With that kind of power given into the hands of the government, whoever is currently in charge gets to decide who they want to censor and for whatever reason their hearts desire.
Please continue to pray for religious liberty to prevail here at home and in places like the UK.
And pray that the UK will not succeed in their attempt to prevent free speech by Franklin Graham.
