UK’s Last Chick-fil-A Location To Close After Nonstop Protests

Chick-fil-A is learning the hard way that all the pandering in the world won’t satisfy the “woke” mafia as the Christian-owned restaurant’s last location in the United Kingdom is set to close.

According to The National, the restaurant is shutting down after just four months of business within a luxury hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since its opening, the restaurant was plagued by nonstop protest over owner Dan Cathy’s views on biblical marriage and its former practice of donating to Christian charities that do not affirm LGBT lifestyles.

Chick-fil-A had previously attempted to set up shop at the Oracle Shopping Center in Reading, England, but that location was forced to close barely a week after opening.

“They hired a PR company, and [Cathy] has not been quoted since,” a statement released by Reading Pride U.K. in October reads. “There is no record we can find to suggest his views have changed.”

In other words, these people will fight to destroy businesses, chase away much-needed jobs, and limit the rest of society’s choices in a free market unless everyone conforms to their views.

That’s what we call “totalitarianism,” boys and girls!

Patrick Harvie, co-leader of the Scottish Greens party and the first bisexual man elected to the Scottish Parliament, demanded that the hotel chain close the restaurant when it opened late last year.

“MSPs, as well as visiting delegations from other countries, often use their hotel on Holyrood Road, and many organizations hold briefing events there when the space inside Parliament is full,” he told The National, regurgitating the tired old talking point that organizations formerly supported by Chick-fil-A somehow cause legitimate harm to LGBT people. “So we have a special responsibility to challenge them to drop their association with this toxic U.S. company which funds campaigns to undermine LGBT+ people’s safety and human rights.”

These organizations include, according to LGBTQ Nation, the Marriage & Family Foundation, the Georgia Family Council, Exodus International, to whom founder Truett Cathy had previously donated, as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Salvation Army.

LGBTQ Nation adds that a statement on the hotel’s website confirmed the location’s closing, describing it as a “pop-up,” although there was no indication that the restaurant would be temporary when it first opened.

In spite of LGBT boycotts in the years following Cathy’s 2012 remarks, Chick-fil-A’s conservative Christian customer base managed to catapult the chain to immense success.

Last year, however, the chain fell sharply out of favor after opting to cut off the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and The Salvation Army in favor of funding pro-abortion, pro-LGBT leftist groups like Covenant House and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

They’ve turned their backs on conservative Christians, and pro-LGBT leftists won’t touch them until Dan Cathy renounces his views. What will the future look like for this proverbial restaurant without a country?

If you appreciate the work we are doing to fight the leftist assault on our values, please consider a small donation to help us continue. Thank you so much!
