What You Need To Know Before You Buy Girl Scout Cookies

With each new year comes another Girl Scout cookie season. Individuals around the country are encouraged to purchase a box (or several) of cookies from green sash-clad little girls on a mission to “make the world a better place.”

The trouble is, as we have pointed out in the past, that for all the good the Girl Scouts of the USA purports to do, they are little more than a vehicle for leftist neo-feminism to advance in society, starting with each of the innocent girls hawking their cookies.

Before you commit to buying a box of cookies this year—or worse, sign your daughter up to be a Girl Scout—there are a few things you need to know.

According to My Girl Scout Council, Girl Scouts has repeatedly approved its young members partnering with Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers and activist organizations to earn Girl Scouts’ highest award, the Gold Award, “to make the world a better place.” Such projects have included:

  • A series of high school presentations in collaboration with NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League) for “getting rid of abortion stigma and misconception” by “activists who have had abortions who were interested in sharing their stories.”

  • A high school health fair which included Planned Parenthood among “the booths from various health organizations in order to educate students on what good health care is and to promote healthy habits for them to live long, happy lives.”

  • “A Young Women’s Health Expo…to highlight research on reproductive health,“ invited girls to “come meet your local health care centers.” The Expo featured abortion providers Planned Parenthood and Equality Health Center, who advertised abortion services and offered free condoms to those in attendance. The ACLU was another presenter “educating young [girls] and their rights to repro and economic justice.”

For all its talk of being politically neutral, GSUSA foists seemingly nothing but leftist feminism on its members and leaders.

Recently, GSUSA partnered with the pro-abortion Clinton Foundation and the Ford Foundation to host a Civics Education panel for “preparing the next generation of informed and engaged citizens.” I don’t suppose they could have found even a slightly more conservative or even centrist group to work with?

On the organization’s Twitter page, which itself is loaded with tweets that would give any conservative a headache, GSUSA has celebrated pro-abortion Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for having “profoundly shaped human understanding and advancement.”

RBG isn’t the only pro-abort leftist who has earned the praise of GSUSA on Twitter. The honor has also recently been shared by Nancy Pelosi, Sharice Davids, Deb Haaland, Ilhan Omar, Rashida TlaibMichelle Obama, and Chelsea Clinton. Beyond the area of politics, GSUSA has promoted Greta Thunberg and Meghan Rapinoe, and applauded Jennifer Lopez and Shakira for their pornographic Super Bowl halftime show.

GSUSA has also encouraged and supported its members to participate in local Women’s Marches, which typically coincide with the start of cookie season—because pink vagina hats go so well with green sashes, I guess? Sick.

Girl Scouts even applauded some of its teen members for attending and promoting the 2019 MAKERS Conference in which headliner Gloria Steinem was presented a “golden vagina” made of old purity rings.

Even the curriculum used in Girl Scouts programs recommends pro-abortion role models and organizations such like Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Geraldine Ferraro, Hillary Clinton, Amnesty International, Population Council, the ACLU, and the National Organization For Women.

Is the picture getting clear yet??

My Girl Scout Council continues, noting that GSUSA is “the largest member organization of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), providing 2.5 million of its 10 million girl and adult members worldwide and paying approximately 1.24 million dollars annually to WAGGGS based on the number of registered GSUSA members.”

By WAGGGS’ own admission, “anyone who is a Girl Guide or Girl Scout is automatically a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.” WAGGGS promotes youth reproductive/abortion and sexual rights, specifically on behalf of its 10 million members.

As for the cookie campaign itself, all the good intentions behind wanting to fund a wholesome extracurricular program for girls are for nothing. When you buy a box of cookies, the girl’s troop keeps an average of just 10 to 20 percentof the money she collects from selling cookies.

The local council, however, receives an average of 65 to 75 percent of the money collected by all local troops.

Who stands to gain the most? You guessed it, the GSUSA, who collects a royalty payment based upon its licensed trademark on every box of cookies produced.  That means that the roughly 200 million boxes of cookies sold each year put millions of dollars of funding into GSUSA coffers.

Even individual donations to girls and their troops in lieu of cookie purchases, according to Girl Scout Council policy, must be used to purchase cookies to be donated to military troops, food pantries, etc.  So a monetary gift, intended to directly support the girls and avoid financially benefiting the Girl Scout organization, is actually buying more cookies.

It’s simple, folks. While GSUSA is careful to avoid direct financial links to entities like Planned Parenthood, the truth is clear.

Just say no to these cookies and the agenda they support.

If you appreciate the work we are doing to fight the leftist assault on our values, please consider a small donation to help us continue. Thank you so much!
