Conservatives and Christians have long been sounding the alarm about the dangerous capacity that Big Tech social media outlets have to censor the free flow of information.
While people of all ideological stripes have expressed concern over social media censorship, those on the political and religious right are in a particularly precarious situation as the Silicon Valley power players behind the networks we’ve all grown to rely so heavily upon for communication continuously demonstrate their clear left-leaning bias.
Just when you thought that examples of censorship seemingly specifically aimed at conservative or Christians couldn’t get any more unbelievable, a California worship leader is speaking out after he claims that Instagram flagged his worship video as “harmful or false information.”
LifeSiteNews reports that Sean Feucht slammed Instagram and other social media outlets on his Twitter page last week as he found his videos were flagged.
“This is what we’ve come to in America! Instagram is now classifying my WORSHIP videos as ‘harmful or false information’ Religious Liberty? Freedom of Speech? Big Tech censorship?” he wrote on June 23.
“My feed and many others is proof. #ChangeTheNarrative.”
On the same day, he posted on his Instagram slamming the platform and lamenting that worship and prayer videos can be deemed as “hate speech.”
“Never thought I’d see the day where my WORSHIP VIDEOS on Instagram would be deemed ‘harmful & false information.’ MY DMs are flooded with tons of these messages,” he wrote.
“Yet this is where we are in America, where even our worship & prayer (religious liberties) is seen as ‘hate speech’ to Big Tech. GOD GIVE THE CHURCH COURAGE IN THE DAYS TO COME! We’ve never seen a season like this!”

LifeSite notes that “Feucht’s backlash against Instagram is in regard to two YouTube videos of him conducting street ministry at U.S. riot hotspots. One video of him is at a hope rally in St. Louis on June 5, the other in Minneapolis on June 13.”
Feucht’s attention was first brought to the matter when, as Fox News recently reported, his social media followers brought his attention to his videos apparently “being suppressed” and failing to gain “the normal traction.”
“But I didn’t know this was the reason until I started getting tagged in people’s posts about it. Other people were finding they couldn’t share it, screenshot it — they couldn’t even view it. So I blew the trumpet on it because this is crazy,” Fox quotes him as saying.
This suppression captured the attention of Missouri Senator Josh Hawley (R) who has been one of the most vocal critics of Big Tech censorship in Washington DC.
“Cancel culture meets #BigTech,” Hawley tweeted on June 23.
Cancel culture meets #BigTech. Now @instagram is censoring a Christian worship leader who wants to post videos of praise and worship from places where there has recently been unrest. And that doesn’t meet “community standards”? Can’t wait to hear the explanation for this https://t.co/QoQcpEo2q8
